As the 1 July 2006 date looms closer, some of us will need analysis to support RoHS compliance or even expose counterfeit components. Tom Perrett and his colleagues at Tin Technology offer such services. In many cases they can quickly tell if a component is non-compliant, however as I have stated in an earlier posting showing compliance is a bit more tricky, but they have a quite complete set of tools to accomplish this task:
X-ray, microsection & automatically generated XRF or EDX/SEM report
Polybrominated FR Analysis (PBB & PBDE)
Chromium (VI) Analysis
ICP analysis for PB, Cd, Hg, Cr.
