A few weeks ago we attended the annual Society of Vacuum Coaters Conference in Providence, RI. This is a great show for people looking for the newest advancements in PVD equipment, materials, and deposition techniques. Indium Corporation exhibits at this conference, with a focus on indium for vacuum coating. This year we met up with Frank Zimone as we were on our way to set up for the show, and he mentioned he had an expanded role with the SVC, and that the team is already working on improvements for the 2018 show!
Frank: “Next year the SVC TechCon will be at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando Florida (May 5-10, 2018). We are excited to focus the technical conference on both thick and thin films that are integrated into complex coating architectures that address the emergence of smart functional coatings and interfaces in the aerospace market. This conference will build on the history of the SVC to identify new markets and customers for the technology that the SVC’s stakeholders develop and provide to industry. From an exhibit perspective we will be aiming for a more intimate setting that fosters networking and education. We’re excited that 2018 promises to be our best show ever. Personally, I am honored to have been asked to lead the SVC into its’ sixth decade.”
The SVC team is working on plans as I write this, and we will be sure to update you as we learn more.
