Folks,
Some companies are already turning in their competitors who have not registered for WEEE. The article at the preceeding link expresses surprise and disappointment at this revelation. Wait until 1 July 2006, when RoHS takes effect. I believe that many companies, that are in good shape Re WEEE/RoHS, have as an unstated marketing strategy to blow the whistle on their non compliant competitors. And I think the EU is counting on it to help in enforcement.
Hmmmmm, interesting perspective on capitalism helping environmentalists!
