Today’s mailbag entry included an email with the broad statement: “I would like to know more about your indium wire options.”
Here is my answer: We have many options for indium-containing wire. In fact, we offer over 60 alloys that contain indium. If we just narrow this down to just pure indium wire, you still have a wide choice of indium with different purity levels (99.99%In and 99.999%In being the most common), various diameters, and custom packaging options.
Assuming the individual was asking about available diameters for pure indium wire, most of our orders are between 0.010” (0.25mm) and 0.250” (6.35mm), although we do make large rods as well.
Indium wire is tricky to make and package because it is extremely soft and sticks to itself.
