My first two weeks have been pretty eventful as the Marketing Communications intern at Indium Corporation. I have been assigned many different projects to work on during the next eight weeks of my internship. Some of these projects include; updating certifications of the technical team, interviewing and developing profiles of Indium’s employees for IndiumTV, making improvements to IndiumTV, overseeing the internship blog along with coaching interns on their blogging efforts, auditing our sales channel partner (SCP) websites, working with our buyer personas, and, last but not least, working on updating the e-commerce website (www.indium.com) in an effort to create a more user-friendly experience.
Some of the projects that I am working on will continue to develop long after my internship ends but I am happy to be a part of the beginning stages and giving unbiased opinions and feeback on what I think needs change or updating. The best part is that my opinion is always welcomed and taken into consideration.
Before I started my internship, I thought I was just going to sit back, observe, and learn from my supervisors. Although this is the case sometimes, I am mostly learning from myself and taking over my role here. I am in charge of my schedule, setting up meeting with co-workers to discuss projects, meeting and contacting our outside advertising and website vendor partners, giving interns advice on their blog, developing profiles of Indium employees, emailing and updating the certifications and titles of Indium employee’s from all over the world, etc.
My favorite part about my internship is that I am always busy; it makes the days go by faster.
Best Regards,
