  • My name is Matthew D. Haddad, I am a Desktop Administrator intern here at the Indium Corporation. I work in the Information Technology (IT) department with a great group of people.

I am currently enrolled at Utica College where I will be entering my senior year in the fall of 2016. My major is Cybersecurity and Information Assurance and I have a concentration in Cybercrime Investigations and Forensics. I am a member of the Utica College baseball team; I wear number five. I play third and second base. I am also involved in many organizations, clubs, and honor societies at Utica College. I am the former Vice President and IT Coordinator of the National Society of Leadership and Success Utica Chapter. I am the former treasurer of the Organization of Justice Studies. I am also a member of the National Criminal Justice Honor Society and Cyber Patriots. Other than baseball, I enjoy camping, vacationing, and spending time with family.

Throughout my collegiate years I tried to gain experience in different fields. The Cybersecurity major offers students a wide range of challenging and fulfilling career paths. A few career paths a Cybersecurity degree can get someone into are Computer Forensics, Fraud Investigation, Law Enforcement, Information Security, and Information Technology. I have some experience in the Computer Forensics and Information Technology field just from my education at Utica College. But, I have always wanted to learn more outside of the class room.

I have three internship experiences, including this summer's at the Indium Corporation. Previously, I was a Data Analysis and Recovery Intern at Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield. Here I revised under- and over-paid health insurance claims. I also shadowed the Information Security and the Information Technology teams while at Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield. My second internship was in the Financial Intelligence Unit at Community Bank in Cicero, New York. There I performed fraud investigation.

I am truly honored to be one of the ten interns here at Indium and will do my very best to benefit the company with the information and education I have obtained from Utica College and my previous internships. An information technology internship is exactly what I was looking for. I say this because I've always wanted to be a part of an IT team at a well-recognized company such as Indium. My goal is to learn as much as possible from the many professionals I will work with on a daily basis. I want to be challenged on a daily basis because, in my opinion, that is the best way someone can learn. Lastly, another very important goal of mine is to make as many connections as possible because who knows, Indium Corporation might be the place for me.

I wish you all the best,

    Matthew D. Haddad
