Folks,
My bimonthly column on WEEE/RoHS has created considerable email traffic.
Surprisingly many people are hoping their products are exempt or that WEEE/RoHS won't happen. You might want to read the article. If you ship products to Europe, the bottom line:
1. You have until August 13, 2005 to register for WEEE all of the products that you want to sell in Europe after this date.
2. You will have to pay a fee for the recycling of the products.
3. You have until July 1, 2006 to convert your products to be RoHS compliant.
4. It will be the exception that your product will be exempt. For further info download the WEEE and RoHS documents at www.pb-free.com.
