Folks,
Digikey colleague Aaron Rollens developed the equation to convert the mass on a spool of solder wire into its length. I also developed the equation to convert a length of solder wire into its mass.
These equations are below in Figure 1.

Being an Excel® nerd, I decided to develop an Excel® spreadsheet that would calculate the length or mass in these equations. An image of the spreadsheet is in Figure 2.

These calculations and spreadsheet only work for solid wire, they will not work for flux core wire.
