As I am not from Central NY, I am always looking for new places to explore. Last weekend I found myself at the Utica Zoo. I had not been to a zoo since I was a child and, due to the fact it was nearby, I had to go! I have always had a love for animals.

When I arrived, I found that they were doing construction and that got me excited because that means the zoo is expanding! The zoo offered a student discount with my student ID, which I was able to take advantage of, but the regular admissions price was fair as well.

The zoo had multiple exhibits, a walking trail, and various activities for children. I was able to spend about a half of the day exploring the zoo and everything that it had to offer.  The Utica Zoo even had an exhibit of my favorite animal, a camel!

I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun I had at the zoo and would be interested in checking it out again once the renovations are complete! This was something I was able to do on my weekend living in Utica, NY during my internship at Indium Corporation this summer.
