The beginning of 2014 brought an interesting opportunity for me, the availability of a position as a Manufacturing Engineer at Indium Corporation (at our BPD facility in Utica NY). So far it has been a great way to gain new skills and work with a different product line than I have in the past. I’m thankful for a new challenge!
Here are some things I have noticed so far:
-
My colleagues at Indium Corporation have supported and trained me as I settle into the new role.
-
A production environment of this size has a lot of moving parts.
-
Quality is involved in every aspect of manufacturing.
-
An Application Engineer background gives you a unique perspective in this line of work.
-
Line operators are fundamental to making great products.
As for blogging, I’ll be focused on some different solder related topics. And if you have questions regarding any solder related topic I will still (of course) be happy to help.
